Summer Is a Big Season for Water Damage!
7/6/2022 (Permalink)
We are right in the middle of summer. This naturally puts a strain on your home’s plumbing. Whether you are taking multiple showers to cool off from outdoor exercise, or to keep your garden hydrated, you’re likely using more water than normal these days.
Unfortunately, this overuse makes water damage more likely to happen from your own plumbing. You might be surprised to hear how common it is. Did you know that water damage makes up around 30% of all homeowner’s insurance claims every year in the United States? It’s a very common problem and the majority of these claims are non-weather related. This means you should keep an eye on your plumbing this summer so you don’t have to deal with an expensive repair.
We want to share with you what are the most common water damages we see in the summer!
Leaking Faucets or Pipe Breaks
As we mentioned earlier, your plumbing is under greater stress during the summer. Heavier use equals more wear and tear on your entire system. With pipes in constant use, you are more likely to see a burst pipe or a leaky pipe in your home. Whether this leak is obvious or hidden in a crawlspace or below your foundation, there is a risk of water damage.
Water damage can occur on all types of surfaces. Don’t just assume that your tiled bathroom hasn’t suffered any damage.
If you or your business suffer water damage, we want to be there for you. We have mitigated and restored hundreds and hundreds of water damages and we want to bring that knowledge to serve you in your time of need!
